About Sirah Atlas
Welcome to Sirah Atlas, an interactive journey through 1400+ years of Islamic history.
Sirah Atlas is an innovative educational platform that makes the rich history of Islam and Muslims accessible to everyone curious about this fascinating history. While countless sources are available, they are often abstract and lack a visual component that can facilitate understanding and teaching to our youth.
What does Sirah Atlas offer?
Sirah Atlas is built around important epochs from Islamic history. History is divided into major epochs, such as the Sira of the Prophet ﷺ and the Era of the Caliphs, each with its own timeline. Within these epochs, you will find different periods that mark important events. For clear historical context, we use both the Islamic (Hijri) and Western (CE) calendar.
Each period presents an interactive map where you can explore important locations, cities, and events. Through the timeline, you navigate through different events, and by clicking on markers on the map, you learn more about specific locations and tribes. For those who want to delve deeper, we offer detailed articles about important events and people.
Help the project grow
Every map, article and battle story is free, and stays free. What readers contribute goes straight into expanding the atlas.
- •Translating the whole atlas into six languages
- •Recording audio narrations for the articles
- •Building new epochs, maps and battle stories
- •Paying for the servers, the maps and the research
Support the work and you also get the audio, unlimited quizzes and detailed statistics.

Our Mission
It is our mission to lower the threshold for fulfilling this hadith, by increasing love for the Prophet ﷺ through learning about his life, his time, and the history of his community. This is our contribution to helping people learn about our history and our faith, and to achieve an important goal outlined in the following hadith:
لاَ يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
"None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all people combined."
- Sahih al-Bukhari
